Jessica Stumpf

About

Jessica Stumpf joined Greenville County Emergency Management January 2017 as Planning Coordinator and was promoted to Deputy Director in August 2019. In September 2021, she was named Director of Greenville County Emergency Management. Her duties include managing day-to-day operations of the agency, public information, coordinating with numerous agencies and organizations, and keeping officials informed on weather-related issues. She serves as a Public Information Officer, Situation Unit Leader, and Meteorologist on South Carolina Task Force 1 and Palmetto Incident Support Team.

Prior to joining Greenville County Emergency Management, Jessica worked at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and responded to the October 2015 Historic Flood and Hurricane Matthew. For her work during both of those disasters, she was awarded State Commendation Ribbons from the South Carolina Military Department. Jessica received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Penn State and spent over 6 years as a Broadcast Meteorologist in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Myrtle Beach. She also holds a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Millersville University. Jessica is a South Carolina Certified Emergency Manager and a Leadership South Carolina graduate (2016). She was recently elected President-Elect of the South Carolina Emergency Management Association and looks forward to serving her colleagues throughout South Carolina in this role.
