Greenville County Emergency Management is an agency tasked with planning, integrating, and implementing all emergency management and Homeland Security related activities for Greenville County. This includes coordinating the community’s efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from large-scale emergencies and disasters.

TWO ADDITIONAL WATER DISTRIBUTION SITES TO OPEN FRIDAY IN GREENVILLE COUNTY
GREENVILLE, SC – Recovery efforts continue in Greenville County as crews work to clear roads and debris from downed trees. Citizens and businesses are encouraged to document any damage done to their property and apply for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance program online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-3362 or by using the FEMA App.
A preliminary damage assessment around the county shows that 1,297 structures have minor repairable damage, 642 have significant damage that requires extensive repairs, and 53 structures or homes that are deemed a total loss.
Water and MREs are available to the public at the following distribution sites from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
There are 16 County roads that will be closed for an extended period of time due to washout from flooding:
The South Carolina Department of Insurance will be available on Friday, October 4th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 79 Woodruff Industrial Lane, Greenville, SC, to assist residents in contacting insurance companies. The SC DOI’s Office of Consumer Services will be answering insurance-related questions and assisting in helping navigate potential insurance scams that can arise following a disaster. FEMA representatives will also be on site to help with assistance registration.
The United Way of Greenville County is accepting donations, both in person at their 105 Edinburg Court location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and online at the United Way of Greenville County Community Relief Fund, where 100 percent of your donations will support recovery efforts and resources in Greenville County.
The State Forestry Commission Burn Ban is still in effect for Greenville County and prohibits all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, as well as burning for forestry, wildlife, or agricultural purposes. The ban does not apply to fires used for the preparation of food or fires used in appropriate enclosures.
