The Greenville County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) outlines the county’s efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from large-scale emergencies and disasters. The plan is the result of the all-hazards emergency management program designed to address many types of hazards including severe weather, flooding, hazardous materials, earthquakes, terrorism, and technological incidents.

Dam Owner Emergency Management Assistance Request

When notified, Greenville County Emergency Management will initiate a CodeRed and IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert Warning System) message to notify citizens downstream who may be impacted by breaches or failures.

This letter assists dam owners and operators in developing or updating an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and does not replace an EAP.  Under SC State Law, all High and Significant Hazard dams must have an up-to-date EAP with the SCDES dam safety program as required by Regulation 72-1 through 72-9 Dams and Reservoirs Safety Act Regulations.
