Ben McElroy joined Greenville County Emergency Management after spending 12 years with Greenville County EMS. He began his career as a support technician and EMT, later earning his paramedic certification from Greenville Technical College in 2014.
Over the years, he served in various roles including field paramedic, Field Training Officer, and Operations Supervisor. Most recently, he worked as the Schedule and Deployment Supervisor, helping manage day-to-day operations and staffing.
Ben is currently finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management from Arkansas State University. He also serves on Greenville County’s Special Operations Team as a diver and is a member of South Carolina Task Force 1, contributing as both a planner and a medic.
